Where full-size trucks fit
- Private ORV parks such as Byrd's, Hot Springs Off-Road Park and Flat Nasty list 4x4s or SUVs. See private parks.
- St. Joe State Park allows four-wheel-drive vehicles in the sand tailings area only.
- National forest roads open to highway-legal vehicles on the Motor Vehicle Use Map. See forest roads and the MVUM.
- The national forest OHV trail systems listed here are built for ATVs, UTVs and bikes. The Mark Twain trails limit ATVs and UTVs to 50 inches wide.
Where you cannot ride
- Off designated routes on national forests: cross-country travel is prohibited, and wilderness is closed to all motor vehicles.
- Arkansas Game and Fish WMAs, except specific listed areas and only as the regulation allows.
- Missouri Department of Conservation areas, where vehicles are generally limited to roads and parking areas.
- In Missouri streams and rivers, except as the statute allows.
- Private land without permission.
Questions
Can I take my full-size truck on Ozark National Forest OHV trails?
The Forest Service pages for these trail systems list ATV and OHV riding, not full-size trucks. Trucks can use national forest roads shown open to them on the current Motor Vehicle Use Map, and some private parks and St. Joe State Park's tailings area allow 4x4s.
